Tarte Tatin - Cooking

This task Saleha had a go on this. She did well. Then later we had a turn. Next I had a go on doing it. It was awesome turning the apple on the caramel. Yum!

This task Alisi put the pastry on top of the apples. She did pretty well. Then Kelvin had a turn. He also did pretty well too. Wow I've got one more day to go.

This game is called Converting Weeks to Days. This activity was pretty easy. The answer is 35 because 5 times 7 = 35. Next I would want to learn more about strands.

This game is called Minutes to Hours. Alisi helped me in this game. But she didn’t told me the answer. She explained it to me then I got the answer. This game was pretty hard. Next I would learn more about this game but I’ll try to work on my own.

“BOOM!” “BANG!” Alisi’s family blew the fireworks outside without her. Alisi is in the middle of a sweet night dream. In her dream the whole world was made of chocolates and candies.

“I’m going to eat that chocolate mountain!” Alisi jumped and she almost was about to land on the mountain..... “BOOM!” “BANG!” The fireworks interrupted her beautiful night dream.

Suddenly Alisi woke up, “BOOM!” “BANG!”

“What’s that noise?” she screamed.  A lisi was scared. She really wanted to go and see where that noise came from. But she was too lazy and she wanted to go back to sleep. At last she pushed herself out of bed.

“Why is it so quiet now?” Alisi asked. No one replied. Alisi thought her family was sleeping so she checked everywhere in the house.

“Is this some kind of joke?” Alisi bragged. No one answered back again.

“BOOM!” “BANG!” the noise came back again. Alisi looked out the window. All she saw was a  beautiful sparkles shining up in the air. Her eyes started to shine like the stars in the sky.

“Wow!, That’s amazing!” two minutes later there was a voice saying “I want a turn! I want a turn!” “That sounds like Ash!” whispered Alisi.  

Alisi went outside and there was her family.

“You didn’t wake me up, you didn’t even tell me you were going to do fireworks?” Alisi was mad. But luckily there were lots more left.

“YAY!” Shouted Alisi.

“Can I do that one please mum?” she pointed at the bunch of fireworks still left.

“Sure.” replied mum. Alisi grabbed a firework. She smiled happily. Her mum lit it up.

“Are you ready?” asked Ash. Alisi was scared that she might point the wrong way and burn something. But she didn’t.

“BOOM!” BANG!” The fireworks blewed.

“That’s so incredible!” shouted dad.

“BOOM! “BANG!” Another firework came out.

“Is it done?” asked Alisi to make sure it doesn’t hit anybody. Suddenly the smoke came out. “What is that smell?” Asked Ash.

“It’s the fireworks, duh?” “What else could it be?” Alisi replied.

“There’s still more fireworks kids!” their parents suggested.

“BOOM!” “BANG!” “BOOM!” “BANG!” They were all excited and happy but Alisi wanted to sleep again so she could continue her dream.

I was sure I heard the sound of a fart on the couch. “Who farted?” Asked Alisi. “Omg! What’s that smell?” Alisi looked like she wanted to vomit. “It wasn’t me replied” Jalal. Jalal went all red like a apple...... “Why are you red?” Asked Alisi. “Oh, I ..... I ..... I just ate a red hot chilli!” Mumbled Jalal. Alisi looked at him weird. “Awkward......” Said Alisi.

Alisi already know he farted. It was so obvious she thought. He didn’t want to admit in front of his best friend and he didn’t want to be embarrassed. Alisi was laughing.... “What’s so funny?” “Oh, nothing” Lied Alisi. “I wonder who farted?” Laughed Alisi. “It wasn’t me!” Screamed Jalal. “Calm down” She smelted the fart again. She couldn’t stand the smell. So she tooked a pillow and started to wave the pillow at her face so she can’t smell it. “Why are you doing that?” “Oh..... I’m just hot!” Jalal was thinking that she already knows that he farted. Jalal wanted to tell Alisi that he farted but he was too scared.

They both were sitting on the couch at home..... Jalal stood up. “I’m going to go to the kitchen, I will be back” He walked fast. He put his hand on his forehead and started thinking a way to tell her. “Think think think!” “I got it!”

Jalal was ready and confident. He tooked a deep breathe. “Alisi?, can I ask you a question?” Asked Jalal. “Sure” “If I farted what would you do?” She holded her laugh inside her..... “I would kind of laugh at first and then be serious” “Ok........ because ... I ... farted....” Jalal shivered..... Alisi laughed like she was in hell! She couldn’t stop laughing. “Are you ok?” Jalal looked at Alisi weird. A few minutes later....... Alisi started to fart. Jalal slowly looked at Alisi....... Then Jalal started laughing hard out like he was in hell too. Jalal screamed LOL! Then they both started laughing!

In this game I had to find how many stars I could get. The last question I had answer was 9+4 and the answer is 13. I could get more stars but I had no time. This game was easy because it’s addition and all you have to do is just add. Next I would want to learn measurement games.

One day, the firefighters were having their break outside on the grass. “I wonder what’s going to happen today” Zack’s friends agreed. After they had their break they started to talk about something.

They started chatting. “What’s that smell?” “Sniff Sniff”. “Yeah, what is that smell?” “Sniff Sniff”  “It smells like something’s burning.” “I think it’s heading over there.” They all looked...... “I can see the heat steaming.” They quickly got up and and ran to the firefighters van.

Suddenly the steaming heat became a fire. “It’s getting bigger and bigger!” They prepared the hose. But then the fire started following the house. I looked out the window. “Its heading into that house!” Suddenly a girl who lives in that house all alone was looking out the window. “What’s that yellowish, orangish thing?” She rubbed her eyes to see if it was a dream. She looked again “Damn! It’s a fire!” She didn’t know what to do. She was panicking. First she got a big bag, she put all of her clothes, shoes, her phone, wallet, and her family photo.

BOOM! Zack smashed into her house. The women looked straight at him. “Get outside quickly!” She runs outside fast as the wind. The man checked to see if no one was left behind. After when he checked he runs outside quickly. The fire was coming..... CRACK! SIZZLE! The fire went inside the the house. The man and the women ran together and then the man told the women to get down to the floor. They were far away from the house though. The fire burned everything.... Then suddenly the fire was burning the gas.......... BOOM! SMASH! CRACK! The house exploded. The man and woman put their hands over their heads. Zack’s  friends looked outside and ran to him and the woman. “Are you ok?” “Yes! We’re fine!” The firefighters drove near the house and got the hose and sprayed the fire down. “You saved my life!” “Thank you!” “No problem”

Sports Camp: First Day

Yay! I’ve been waiting for this moment, the first day of Sports camp. Everyone was gossiping about Sports camp and they tried to hold their excitement.

You could see their shining smile on their faces when they were on the bus to leave for Totara Spring. Half an hour later....... All you could hear is “are we there yet?”, “What's taking so long?” “I’m hungry” and “What’s the time?” They were all  impatient and exhausted. The bus driver took them somewhere to eat their snack but then there weren’t enough space. They shouted “I’m hungry!” “Can we eat now?” But then they had to wait for another few minutes or hours.

A few hours later.......... Finally! We here! It’s amazing! They were enthusiasm. G.I got out of the bus and took their bags or what they’ve brought and put it on the bench. It smells fresh. A few minutes later....... They started eating their snacks. Finally! After when they’ve eaten, G.I took their bags and the teachers showed where their dorms were and put everything inside. Some of G.I students wanted to rest and relax but they couldn’t, they had to go to the first game which is Cross Country.

Theme: Always eat before you go somewhere. Incase if you get hungry.

In this game I had to find the fraction that was taken and the whole shape that was divided into. The yellow The numerator is on top of the fraction and the denominator is for the bottom. This game was simple. Next I would want to learn more fraction but challenging.

This game is about understanding fractions. I had to shade any piece and I had to show what fraction was taken and what fraction was left. The fraction was taken is 2/8 and the fraction was left is 6/8. The shaded part is on top (numerator) and the bottom one is the shape that its divided into (denominator). This activity wasn’t difficult. This activity was simple.

This activity is called Cubes in a Bag. The answer was impossible because there are no blue. I think this activity was simple. Next I would want to learn more about probability but more challenging.

Survey Report

In my maths group, we did any question to do a Survey. My question is What is your Hobby? We had to survey our class. The most popular Hobby is Other. The second popular Hobby is Cooking. The least popular Hobby is Reading. The same height is Swimming, Running and Art. I thought room 11 was going to choose Cooking but they choose other. I added all of them up, so the total is 22.  

Bar Graph

The most colour of counters is the Pink because it’s taller than all of the others. The least colour of counters is the Green also because It’s the shortest. Yellow and Blue is the same height. They both have 5 counters but different colours. The easiest way for me to read out of Tally Chart and Bar Graph is the Bar Graph.

As fast as the wind

In the story, Te Aho couldn’t sleep because school was tomorrow. He was starting a new school and it was a start of a new term. It was dark at night and the moonlight shining on the wall. Outside Te Aho’s house was wind blowing hard and Te Aho didn’t like the wind. Te Aho stared the picture on the wall.

Te Aho just could make out a boy. The wind had picked the boy and was carrying him through the air towards the sea. He shivered and snuggled inside his blanket. But he couldn’t stop thinking about the boy. So he shut his eyes so he can’t see the picture on the on the wall. Also Koro told him that there was Rugby too. He didn’t want to play rugby but Koro encouraged him.

When he played rugby he ran fast like the wind. After school he was happy. Koro asked him how was school? He said It was great. Also he said I can play rugby.

In this game, I had to find the green and yellow balloon. The less likely colour in this game is yellow because It has 3 yellow balloons. I think this game was not fair because it has less and it has more. I knew the answer quickly because all I had to do was to just find the less green or yellow coloured balloon. This game wasn’t difficult, it was simple. Next I would want to learn more about probability but  more challenging.

Walt: write a character story

Darren

I chose Darren because he’s scared of the dark and so am I. Darren is a boy. He lives with his mum. Pop’s Darren's Grandfather. Darren’s scared of his cousin, Bess. She’s big and she’s mean. Aunt Billie is Bess’s mum. When ever Darren’s scared he goes in his room and play the drums. It helps him when he’s scared.

Darren had to stay with her cousin Bess. His mum was getting mad because she kept on calling Darren and also she’s gonna have a baby. Darren kept on nodding his head in the car. Pop’s forgetful, wrinkly and also lives by himself. Every night, Darren phones his Pop to remind him to go to bed. But if Darren doesn’t phone his Pop, the Pop wouldn’t sleep and he will get worried about Darren.

Number of Coloured Counters

In maths I am learning to group my 20 counters according to colour and display the data.

The most popular colour of counters is pink because it’s taller than all of the rest. The least popular colour of the counters is green also because It’s the shortest. Yellow and blue is the same height. The easiest way for me to read information is by looking at the bar graph.

This activity is called Identify Unit Fraction. I had to write the right answer to the question and write it in the rectangular box. The top number of the fraction is called the numerator and the bottom number is called denominator. This game was simple. There was nothing challenging. Next I would want to learn more fractions that are challenging.
